Provides personal care services under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist. The Home Health/Hospice Aide is assigned to specific patients by the registered nurse or other appopriate professional and performs services for patients as necessary to maintain their personal comfort.
Home Health/Hospice Aide tasks include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

- Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist
- Assists with range of motion exercises
- Assists with ambulation or exercises
- Performs personal care activities including but not limited to:
- Bathing
- Shampooing
- Skin care/nail care
- Oral hygiene
- Shaving
- Dressing
- Assists in household services essential to health care at home, included but not limited to
- Meal preparation/feeding
- Laundry
- Light housekeeping
- Assists in the cueing of medications that are ordinarily self-administered under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (per state nurse practice laws and agency policy)
- Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist
Homemaker Services
Homemakers provide non-medical assistance to those who may not be able to do day to day activities as well as they once could. Services that a Homemaker would help with include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Meal Preparation
- Light Housekeeping (dusting/laundry/vacuuming/dishes/deep cleaning)
- Local Errands (post office/grocery store/drugstore)
- Make Bed/Change Bedding
- Organize Medical Supplies
