Home Health/Hospice Aides

Provides personal care services under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist. The Home Health/Hospice Aide is assigned to specific patients by the registered nurse or other appopriate professional and performs services for patients as necessary to maintain their personal comfort. Home Health/Hospice Aide tasks include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

• • Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist
    • Assists with range of motion exercises
    • Assists with ambulation or exercises
  • Performs personal care activities including but not limited to:
    • Bathing
    • Shampooing
    • Skin care/nail care
    • Oral hygiene
    • Shaving
    • Dressing
  • Assists in household services essential to health care at home, included but not limited to
    • Meal preparation/feeding
    • Laundry
    • Light housekeeping
  • Assists in the cueing of medications that are ordinarily self-administered under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (per state nurse practice laws and agency policy)

Homemaker Services

Homemakers provide non-medical assistance to those who may not be able to do day to day activities as well as they once could. Services that a Homemaker would help with include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Meal Preparation
• Light Housekeeping (dusting/laundry/vacuuming/dishes/deep cleaning)
• Local Errands (post office/grocery store/drugstore)
• Make Bed/Change Bedding
• Organize Medical Supplies
